Storm Drain Repair and Pipe Lining
A failing storm pipe usually shows up on the surface first: settlement over the line, water standing at an inlet or an outfall that has fallen apart. At V&H Construction, we handle storm drain repair for public agencies, commercial property owners and general contractors. We repair, replace and line storm pipe, rebuild inlets, manholes and outfalls, and replace culverts, and we’re FDOT-prequalified for drainage work.
Call (239) 841-6400 or invite V&H to bid to describe the drainage problem.
STA 1+00 · SCOPE
Define the Repair Scope
Section A–A / damaged run. Locate the failure and the structures on either side.
Repair work starts with where the system has failed and how far the damage runs. Tell us what has been inspected, what the video or survey shows, and which structures are involved.
01
Storm pipe repair and replacement
Excavating and replacing failed sections of storm pipe, with bedding, backfill and surface restoration.
02
Pipe lining
Cured-in-place and slip lining inside existing pipe, renewing the line without open-cutting the road or site above it.
03
Inlet, manhole and structure repair
Rebuilding or repairing catch basins, inlets, manholes and junction boxes, including tops, walls and pipe connections.
04
Culvert replacement
Replacing road-crossing culverts and their end treatments.
05
Outfall and headwall reconstruction
Rebuilding failed outfalls with new headwalls and slope protection where the pipe discharges.
The right method for each run depends on the pipe’s condition, size and location. Your inspection reports and plans show which approach the project calls for.

Repairs Reach the Surface Above
Most storm repairs sit under pavement, sidewalks or landscaped areas, and some sit at the edge of a canal or pond. Include what has to be restored afterward and any traffic or access the repair must keep open.
New drainage systems and improvements are covered on our drainage page. For work at a canal edge or seawall, see marine construction, and for road restoration, roadwork.

Inspection Reports and Access
Send any CCTV inspection, survey or condition report you have. It shows where the pipe has failed, its size and material, and whether lining or replacement suits each run.
Note whether the system has to keep carrying flow during the work, and give the bid due date separately from the date the repair is needed.

STA 4+00 · QUESTIONS
Storm Drain Repair Questions
01 When can a storm pipe be lined instead of replaced? −
Lining usually works when the pipe still holds its shape and the problem is cracks, leaking joints or root intrusion. A collapsed or badly deformed pipe needs replacement. A CCTV inspection is the best way to tell which applies to each run.
02 Do you repair residential drains? +
We work on storm systems for public agencies, commercial properties, developments and road projects. For a blocked drain at a single home, a plumber or drain-cleaning company is usually the right call.
03 What affects the cost of storm drain repair? +
The repair method, pipe size and depth, the length of the damaged run, access, flow control and surface restoration all shape the price. An inspection report lets us price the actual problem.
04 Can you rebuild an outfall or headwall? +
Yes. We rebuild failed outfalls with new concrete headwalls and slope protection. Our project gallery shows a Burnt Store Road outfall from its overgrown condition to the finished headwall.
05 Do you take emergency storm drain repairs? +
Yes. Collapsed pipe, washouts and storm damage often can’t wait for a bid cycle, so we handle emergency and after-hours storm drain work as well. Call (239) 841-6400 with the location and what has failed.
06 Can repairs be done while the system stays in service? +
It depends on the flow and the repair method. Note any requirement to keep the system running in your invitation, and we’ll plan the repair around it.

Burnt Store Road — headwall formwork in a shored, dewatered excavation
Burnt Store Road outfall reconstruction
This outfall was overgrown before the work began. Our crew shored and dewatered the excavation, formed a new concrete headwall and finished the slope with riprap.

Terms in a Repair Package
Four terms you’ll see in most storm repair documents.
Term 01
Cured-in-place pipe
A resin-saturated liner placed inside the old pipe and cured so it forms a new pipe within it. Often shortened to CIPP.
Term 02
Slip lining
Pulling a smaller pipe through the existing one and grouting the space between them.
Term 03
Headwall
The concrete wall at the end of a pipe that holds the slope in place and directs the flow.
Term 04
Bypass pumping
Pumping flow around the work area for a while so the repair can be made in the dry.
